Here let’s delve a little bit deeper into the process of creating a lead magnet that does not look shit to whoever will be getting it.
Remember I said that people can easily get information online through Google. And to you, it might seem hard for you to convince a lot of people that you offer a lead magnet that has the quality and comprehensive information.
In this chapter, I will show you a framework I developed to give out top quality information in my lead magnet.
Whether it is video or e-book.
So, how did I came about this awesome framework?
About 4 years ago, back in 2016, I was doing research on a particular niche topic, How To Make Money On Facebook.
While combing the internet for some quality information, I found out that in every blog I read talking about this same topic, I realized something really interesting to me in them at that time.
Although some of these blog’s content looked shit to me, I realized that about six blogs talked about 4 to 6 different ways, and only four of these blogs wrote 3 points that are the same but using different words to explain it.
Also, I noticed that the YouTube videos I watched were packed with solid revelations that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
This got me thinking, and made me realize that I don’t need to reinvent the wheel, all I needed to do is just to upgrade the ones that have already been done.
So, I got to work, and write out all the points I found in all my sources and then write them in my own words. After these, I was able to come up with 10 different solid points in contrast to the maximum of 6 written in other sources.
At first, I didn’t make so much money from that e-book. I had only two sales, 1k each. But when I decided to release the book out for free, I had about 1000 downloads.
That means, if I had decided to be patient enough and spend money on ads instead of relying only on organic traffic, I might have been able to generate 1 million Naira in revenue.
Fast forward, I discovered that I wasn’t just the only one doing this. Russell Brunson, Huffington Post, Entrepreneurs, and so many top blogs and bloggers also use this trick.
Now, let’s talk about how you can use this trick too.
Creating Your Lead Magnets In 5 Simple Steps
Let’s say you want to target people that go fishing.
Keyword: “How To Catch 500 Fishes In Your Fishing trip”
Step 1: Open up Google, and type in your keyword.
Step 2: Wait till it brings out your result. When it does, open all the blogs in the first and second page in a new tab and save them to your browser. I love using chrome on mobile for this.
Step 3: Also, go ahead to the video tab on Google or open YouTube and search for the same keyword there. View at least 7 videos talking about your topic and write down the points they gave.
Step 4: Combine these points with the one you were able to gather in the blogs you saved.
Step 5: Finally, write them out in your own words, as sweet as you can make them be. Don’t be afraid to copy some lines that fascinate you into your own and just change one or two words for personalization.
When you are done with this, decide if you want it in an e-book format or video. This is entirely based on your strength.
If you are good with words, write it in e-book format, but if you have a nice voice and a good on Air personality, make a video of it and call it a mini-course.
